LOCAL DEMOCRACY AGENCY IN ZAVIDOVICI

The Local Democracy Agency in Zavidovici was established in April 1997, following many years of cooperation between Italian NGOs and local authorities with the host city of Zavidovici. It is located in the Zenica-Doboj Kanton, BiH Federation, Bosnia Herzegovina. Zavidovici and the surrounding area were severely affected by the war.

The main activities of the LDA Zavidovici include:

1. Capacity building for local authorities and NGOs
2. Local economic development/sustainable development 
3. Environmental issues, in particular waste management and the preservation of a nature park
4. Empowerment of women 
5. Youth issues
6. Cultural activities (exhibitions, production of books and documentaries) 
7. Minority issues and interethnic dialogue
