On 21 November 2024, the ALDA delegation, including Antonella Valmorbida (Secretary General), Adrien Licha (Coordinator of the Secretariat), and Khrystyna Kvartsiana (ALDA Representative in Ukraine) attended the Political Meeting of the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine at the Committee of the Regions premises, in Brussels.

Mrs. Valmorbida made a strong intervention, underlining the crucial role of local authorities and civil society in supporting resilience and democratic reconstruction in Ukraine. She restated ALDA’s firm commitment to solidarity, cooperation, and participatory democracy in the light of enhancing community competencies and advancing the path towards EU integration of Ukraine:

“ALDA has been actively working with Ukraine for more than 20 years now, supporting its path with cooperation, local governance, and the fostering of European values, which are more important today in the context of recovery and EU accession”
