National Association of Public Assistance

Description

The Public Assistances were born in 1860 as voluntary associations, free and lay, under a great variety of names: Green Cross, White Cross, Golden Cross, Society of Salvation, Military Brotherhood, Popular Brotherhood. From Sicily to Piedmont, unanimous in their commitment, the Public Assistances have the aim of serving anyone who expresses a need, without placing conditions on the help given and showing themselves open to anyone who wants to take part. In particular, today the Public Assistances operate in the field of ‘health emergency 118, health and social transport, blood donation, civil and fire protection, adoptions and international solidarity, training, civil service, mutuality and social aggregation, the promotion of solidarity, animal protection, defence and rescue.
