Democracy in Europe: Local Governments as Guarantors of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms

This XXVI edition of the Meetings is titled “Democracy in Europe: Local Governments as Guarantors of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms” and aims to create a forum for debate and exchange among elected representatives and technical staff from local entities in the province of Barcelona, as well as European and international experts and local government representatives.

To this end, the event will feature one panel discussion to address the importance of youth political participation as a cornerstone for reinforcing European democracy. Another panel discussion will explore the challenges and opportunities posed by the digital transition for democracy in Europe.
