Revitalising Peripheries after Covid: voices and experiences from European cities

ALDA is thrilled to announce the event organised with Città Metropolitana di Milano within the framework of the SPUR project “Social PostCovid Urban Revitalisation”, funded by the CERV Programme of the European Commission.

What is it about? Starting from concrete experiences, the event will represent the opportunity to discuss and to reflect, together with European cities and organisations, on initiatives and practices aimed at revitalising the suburbs through processes of social integration and participation of the most vulnerable groups, mainly young people and the elderly.

What about the SPUR network of towns? SPUR is a project involving 6 European cities in 5 different Eu States (Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Croatia) in a network designated to work together on the issues of civic participation and tackling inequalities that affect their respective suburbs reflecting on mid and long-term effects of the pandemic within.
Through exchange activities between cities, consultation and participatory pilot action at local level, SPUR promotes a joint path in these cities in order to identify, share and improve positive practices about social resilience of local communities in times of crisis, for building more resilient communities.
