The European House was founded in March 1990 in Budapest, Hungary.
As a civil initiative, it aims to
(a) contribute to Hungary’s fuller participation in the European integration processes with the special tools of a civil organization, help strengthen society’s commitment to the European Union, and make fuller use of the opportunities offered by full EU membership;
(b) organize programs that are suitable for strengthening the Hungarian civil society, giving it socio-political recognition, recognizing the importance of cooperation within the civil sector and promoting joint action.
