The present document is the result of the work of the Local Democracy Agencies and their facilitators within the framework of the pilot project “Local Economic Development in the Balkans” financed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The project ran for just over a year, from December 2003 to January 2005.
This publication is a kind of “logbook” on the difficulties and opportunities faced by territorial animators and, through them, the inhabitants of South-East Europe.
The LDA strategic matrices are to be understood as genuine “maps” for the sustainable, integrated development of the regions concerned.
